Luqaimat

Luquimat is a Traditional Arabic Sweet famous in Dubai, UAE and other GCC countries. The first time I had this dessert was at Global village Dubai a few years ago. There weren’t many places in Dubai where Luqaimat was available so the only time I could have Luquimat was at Global village. Last year when the food trucks started in Dubai I came across this small place “My Karak” where they sold Luqaimat. My husband and I frequented “The Last Exit” to have Luqaimat on many evenings. Unfortunately two months ago the chef at My Karak went on leave. I started to search for other places where Luquimat was available. After an extensive search, I could barely find a handful places where they made Luquimat and most of the time they were out of stock. Not only was I frustrated that I couldn’t find Luquimat when I needed it, I also had a guilty feeling of having Luquimat without my daughter as we always visited “The Last Exit” late at night when my daughter was already asleep.

So, I had enough motivation to explore a new dish and this is how I created my Luqaimat recipe.
